Easter Announcement

The ancient tradition of the Church, on the Feast of the Epiphany, is to announce the date of Easter, and of the other important liturgical celebrations that occur during the year.

This dates back to a time when most people did not have calendars, and especially since these were all moveable feasts whose date changes every year.

  • Easter Sunday: April 16
  • Ash Wednesday: March 1
  • Ascension Sunday: May 28
  • Pentecost Sunday: June 4
  • First Sunday of Advent: December 3
